Matthew Mills

Founder of TecFarms Philanthropies LLC, TecFarms Inc., Mills VC and author

Matthew Mills is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and author. Through his career, he has been strongly committed to giving back through TecFarms Philanthropies, which employs a unique, data-driven artificial intelligent to its core focus areas: GreenEnergy Initiative which aim to provide healthy foods in the Black communities, energy assistant and address systemic health issues and underinvestment in them.

Born in Brownsville Brooklyn NY and later moved to Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn NY as a foster child, Matthew seen firsthand of lack of healthy foods that were offered in his neighborhood and impacts it had on a community that has health problems.

After he graduated from high school and studied at Pratt Institute for his electrical engineering degree, he never forgot where he came from the problems that still pledge the black communities. After graduating from Pratt, and being an entrepreneur, he started various startups and sold some of them. It was only when CAVID struck down the world and even struck harder in the black communities do to existing poor health conditions. It was than Matthew started farming in his backyard to grow vegetables and donate it to individuals in the black communities. His first attempt was not a successful one but he was able to fail fast and learn from his mistakes and try it again until he was able to grow his crops in his backyard.

By utilizing the agile methodology and being able to scale production faster, TechFarms will be able to reach more communities in need of healthy food so they will be able to thrive and live a healthy life.

Mrs. Mills is co-author, with Jim Del Rossi, of Agile Funding: Agile Funding is based on business budgeting transparency. It provides an overview of the process and definition of Agile Funding roles, events, artifacts and rules. The core concept of Agile Funding are concerned with funding teams and/or ideas instead of projects, thereby allowing business to significantly increase deliverables in a rapid, repeatable, controllable incremental approach.

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, he graduated from William E. Grady High School, earned a BS in electrical engineering from Pratt Institute and went on in starting up various companies along his way. He’s from Brooklyn but sleeps in New Jersey.
